Let's get (a little bit) crafty...

Updated: Sep 3

You've probably guessed by now, that I can't get enough of Arts & Crafts...that's why I've had a large Art & Craft crate available on the website here since the beginning. One of my customers once told me they love their large Art & Craft crate because they can use it to store all their 'work in progress' projects, as well as all their supplies...which I thought was brilliant!

I really like the stencil style, rainbow coloured 🌈 writing, but if it's not for you, as with all my crates, it can be changed to suit your tastes. Did you know you can ask for different little images that reflect your favourite Art & Craft items too? One of my favorite art and craft items to use with Lexi is 'paint sticks'...no water, no spillages, basically no mess and they are so easy for her to hold and use...she has created many a masterpiece using them...they come in all sorts of colours/shades/tones too and are relatively cheap.

Anyway...back to the new product... a small Art & craft crate. It's perfect for those who have a slightly smaller (some [*cough Daddy *cough] might say more sensible) volume of Art & Craft supplies OR those who like to give their little one's a bit more independence (but don't want them to have free run of ALL the materials). You could fill it with only the items they need for one particular activity and then hand it over for them to explore and figure out....I do this for Daddy and Lexi. You can order the new small Art & Craft crate here for £24.99 (FREE UK delivery).

Maybe your sitting reading this thinking "I like the idea of Arts & Crafts but I don't know where to start". Perhaps you're full of ideas but have no time to prepare resources or you can't bear the idea of clearing up everything you don't need/the mess afterwards...if any of these sound like you then you are going to LOVE today's small business...they have taken all of the hassle out of crafting with kids! I present to you...My Mini Maker...we might even have a cheeky little discount running across our websites you might be interested in.

Hi I’m Nic and we are My Mini Maker. We provide craft kits with everything you need to just get making. It’s a great alternative to a screen, so you can make lasting memories with your little ones. Each of our activity kit comes with four activities and simple instructions to make sure the activities are stress free.

Tim and I started My Mini Maker when stuck in lockdown and up all night with our newborn, wondering how on earth we’d keep our nearly three year old, Alex busy that day. All the classes we usually did were shut and the weather was getting worse, so lots more time inside was on the horizon. Like many of our friends we weren’t confident doing arts and crafts activities and were intimidated by the ideas we saw online. Surely there was something easier? Something that provided everything you needed to just get making and wasn’t too messy? That’s when My Mini Maker was born. As parents we know crafting with children can be intimidating. You find an idea and then realise you’ve run out of glue or don’t have enough goggly eyes. We take the hassle out of crafting providing you the idea and all the ingredients to make it successfully.

Plus, we can ensure that the activity will be fun for your children as they are all designed by our co-founder Justyna, who has over 20 years experience as an early year’s professional and we test them all at home with Alex. Several activities haven’t made the cut when they’ve been too difficult or not fun enough to keep Alex entertained. That’s the benefit of being parents first, we understand its crucial to make the most of that short attention span.

We change our kit themes every month as we know little ones don’t want to make the same thing again and again. This month's theme is Pirates, as 19th September is "talk like a pirate day" arrggghh! We have activities from parrots to portholes that practice cutting, gluing, sticking and painting. Plus a Treasure Island sensory tray, perfect for some calm, imaginative play after a long day back at school.

Then when there are special occasions we do homemade card kits. Our latest one is for Grandparents Day, the 3rd October, with two different handmade cards and two little gifts to make for under £10 (including free UK delivery). I’m sure all the Nanas, Grandpas, Grandmas and Granddads would be tickled pink with a homemade card.

Our Christmas range is launching soon and if you’d like to be first to know then sign up to our email list here. Not only will you hear about our new products first, you get 10% off your first order and a free activity straight to your inbox every Wednesday.

We’re super excited to be running a discount code across both our websites for the next 7 days, the first 5 people to use the code CRAFT20 will get a whopping 20% off (art and craft crates at Moore Crate Occasions and the pirate activity or sensory kits at My Mini Maker). So why not head over and get everything you need to get creative with your little one this September.
